Evans Christian Academy- Preparing your student for college and life.

Homeschool Students

Evans Christian Academy welcomes homeschooled students! ECA allows part-time enrollment so that your students can take one or more classes and receive the benefit and direction of a dedicated teacher. Evans Christian Academy is an excellent way to transition your child from home to the college environment. Classes are on a block schedule (1 1/2 hour) and meet 2 - 3 times per week. Requirements for each course are outlined in its syllabus.

Courses Available

ECA offers a full range of courses, from Science, History, and Literature, to Languages and the Arts. Advanced Placement (AP) classes are also available, including U.S. History, Government and Politics, Environmental and Literature. Please see our full Course Listing for more information.

Report Cards

Grading at Evans Christian Academy is issued four times per school year. Final grades are issued and course credits are earned once a semester (twice per school year). For a core class, this means that a half-credit is issued for each successfully completed semester. Grades are based on the Georgia Grading scale.

South Carolina students can receive their final grades earlier to comply with state or association requirements.

Evans Christian Academy offers transcripts for part-time students as well as full-time. Informal transcripts are free. A transcript with the school seal is $10.00 for the first copy and $5.00 for each additional copy. These sealed copies are mailed to the college or university of your choice.

Often a college or university requests a letter of recommendation for the student. By being enrolled at Evans Christian Academy, your student has a teacher that can provide the added support that might be needed to obtain a scholarship.

To my Friends at ECA,

As a home schooling parent, I started to stress when my first child was entering high school. It was at this time that I began looking for some outside help and visited ECA. I still remember my first conference with Frieda and how relieved I felt when I left the school. Not only did she present me with all the great opportunities that ECA has to offer home schoolers, but she also prayed with me and it was then that I knew I wanted my kids to be a part of this.

My oldest son started at the school with Biology and had a teacher who is still today considered his “favorite”. The experience was so positive that the next year I started my daughter and the two of them took several classes over the next couple of years. Not only were the academics and teachers exceptional, but Tyler and Jessica were both involved in the service club, inducted into the National Honor Society, and members of FLAIR (a foreign language honor society). Because of their experience at ECA, it was an easy transition to the joint enrolled program at ASU. They both took college classes during their final two years of high school and Tyler is now in his second year at Mercer University where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship (we are currently in the process of Jessica’s college choice). I firmly believe having the accredited classes from your school has helped in their college searches and scholarship offers.

ECA was truly my lifeline in providing my children with not only a great education in a loving Christian atmosphere but more importantly wonderful lifetime memories and friends. I truly thank you for the opportunities that you offer which help ease the burdens on home school parents. I am looking forward to my youngest son taking some classes in the near future!

With a grateful heart,
Susan Wright
